UBC Sound & Cinema Studio rents the DJI Ronin 4D 6K: a cinema camera with a 4-axis gimbal, LiDAR rangefinder and onboard monitor in one body. This is the Zenmuse X9-6K version — 6K/60fps and 4K/120fps internal RAW — not the 8K model. The wireless video and XLR audio modules are not included in this kit.

6K full-frame imaging
The Zenmuse X9-6K records internally at up to 6K/60fps and 4K/120fps in Apple ProRes RAW, with ProRes 422 HQ and H.264 as well. CineCore 3.0, 14+ stops of dynamic range, D-Log / Rec.709 / HLG, dual native ISO 800/5000, and a built-in 9-stop ND (Clear through 512) sit in the same body as the gimbal.
Four axes, one operator
Besides pan, tilt and roll, Ronin 4D adds a Z-axis with about 130 mm of travel so walking and running shots stay level without a separate steadicam. The X9 gimbal camera, carbon-fibre Z-arm, hand grips and 5.5" 1000-nit monitor are built as one rig — ready handheld, on the shoulder, or on sticks.
LiDAR focusing
The LiDAR Range Finder sits above the lens and measures thousands of distance points so autofocus can lock onto faces, bodies or a chosen subject, even in lower light. ActiveTrack Pro and LiDAR waveform give a solo operator a focus puller on the camera. Manual lenses still need the Zenmuse X9 focus motor.
